The conference aims to contribute to mathematical modeling and interdisciplinary cooperation in all areas of engineering. Delivering the opening speech of the conference Chairman of IGU Board of Trustees Abdulkadir Gayretli stated that they are one of Turkey’s three universities shortlisted in the Times Higher Education Awards Asia 2019 final known as Oscars of Higher Education, and added: “Istanbul Gelisim University became one of the top eight universities in the ‘Internationali Strategy of the Year’ category. We attach importance to institutional partnerships and international activities to internationalize. We are the pioneer of internationalization in Turkey”.

IT’S FIRST TIME THAT HONORARY DOCTORATE IS GIVEN

Stating that although IGU is a young university, it has achieved many successes Prof. Dr. Burhan Aykaç said: “We are Turkey's university with the most accredited programs. We have students from 23 countries. For the first time at this year's conference, our university gives an honorary doctorate to Prof. Dr. Ravi Agarwal known as the guru of mathematicians”.

Honorary doctor Dr. Ravi Agarwal stated that he started education at a very early age, and added: “As long as I'm in the world, I will continue my scientific studies. Computer science has taken over everything. But computer science alone doesn't matter. It has to work with mathematics. Maybe computer science becomes a part of mathematics. There are computer-oriented courses. This can also help students to find jobs. Just beyond mathematics, there are no jobs.  There has to be a balance and they have to be able to see the market”.

Director of the Institute of Science and Technology and Conference Chairman Prof. Dr. Mustafa Bayram stated that the conference has been held regularly for 8 years, and added:

“The articles in the presentations made at the conference are re-evaluated and selected articles are published in cited journals. Every year the world-renowned scientists in their field are invited as guest speakers. Professor Dr. Ravi P. Agarwal, Prof. Dr. Adem Kilicman, Prof. Dr. Seifedine Kadry, Professor Dr. Dumitru Baleanu, Professor Dr. Hiroshi Umeo are the invited speakers at the conference this year.”

Bayram also giving information about the subject of the conference, said the following:

“Valuable participants from around the world are doing presentations in the fields of Computational Methods, Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations, Mathematical Modeling and Optimization, BioMathematics, Data Analysis and Related Topics, Ring and Module Theory, Group Theory, Semi-Group Theory, Linear Algebra, Algebraic Integrator, Algebraic Graph Theory, Homological Algebra, Algebraic Topology , Fuzzy Algebra, Encryption”.
