Academician and student returned from festivals with awards
Medium length film "Azer" produced and directed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kemal Çipe and short film "Vesile", written and directed by Çipe's third grade student Yusuf Uz, received awards from international and national festivals.
Faculty member of the Istanbul Gelisim University Radio, Television and Cinema Department Asst. Prof. Dr. Kemal Çipe and third grade student Yusuf Uz won many awards from national and international festivals with their films.
Medium length film "Azer" produced and directed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kemal Çipe following the success in the International Meihodo Visual Media Festival and the Asian Cinematography Awards, was also included in the Lift Off Global Network's 2021 selection.
Talking about the movie 'Azer', which deals with three different stories in the main focus of a legacy story, Çipe stated that the film lays down with symbols, names, actions and dialogues, and stated that he questions the psychological factors behind the events in social life. Çipe, who includes psychology-based concepts, theological and mythological stories in the film, said that he also made use of scriptures while creating the script of the film.
Yusuf Uz, with his short film "Vesile", which he wrote and directed, was chosen 6th among 85 films in ORDAP's short film contest with the theme of "goodness" and received an honorable mention.
Uz said that they made the film about the story of Ibrahim, who was a paper collector in order to earn a living for his family, during the pandemic period and that this situation brought some difficulties and ended his words as follows:
“If you do a favor, that favor may turn around and find you again. Do not stop doing good. A favor you do can be a means for others to do good.”
