IGU establishes technology classes in village schools

Istanbul Gelisim University sets technology classes in Kırklareli Çakıllı Primary & Secondary School and Kırklareli Üsküp Secondary School.

With the vision of supporting Qualified Education, one of the 17 Global Goals determined by the United Nations (UN), Istanbul Gelişim University continues to produce projects that will ensure qualified education in regions where access to opportunities is limited.
Having the vision, "Ecological, Economic and Social Sustainability”, the project was set out to support equality of opportunity in education for students studying in village schools with limited opportunities and to leave a sustainable environment for future generations, and a technology class has been built in Çakıllı Primary School and Üsküp Secondary School with the direction of the Kırklareli Provincial Directorate of National Education.
 
Supported by IGU Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Abdülkadir Gayretli and his wife Şule Gayretli, IGU Rector Prof. Dr. Burhan Aykaç and Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Nail Öztaş and Prof. Dr. Nuri Kuruoğlu and Director of Vocational School, Dr. Lecturer İsmail Cem Ay, the project was conducted by the Head of the Vocational School Property Protection and Security Department, and the Head of the Occupational Health and Safety Program, Lecturer Dr. Güfte Caner Akın and Community Service Unit Coordinator, Lecturer Dr. Aslıhan Güzin Selçuk.

"COMPUTERS ARE RENEWED"


Within the scope of the project, 30 computers have been renewed and reused by Istanbul Gelisim University and 15 tablets have been donated by the companies Istanbul Gelişim University is in cooperation with.
Commenting on the project, IGU Community Service Coordinator Dr. Lecturer Member Aslıhan Güzin Selçuk said, “This project is especially important in terms of supporting the education of our children who experience the limitation of access to online education that came to the fore during the Covid-19 outbreak. In addition to the support given to education, another important point is that it is an exemplary project in reaching the ideal of sustainable environment with the transformation of computers within the scope of digital waste.
