After the earthquake disaster, the epicenter of which was in Kahramanmaraş and which caused great destruction in 10 provinces, Istanbul Gelisim University launched a "Disaster Relief Campaign for Earthquake Regions" to be sent to earthquake zones. The aid collected within our university is delivered to those in need with the coordination of AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency).
On the night of February 6, one of the most devastating earthquakes in our country's history took place. Earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.7 and 7.6, the epicenter of which was Kahramanmaraş, caused great destruction in Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Diyarbakır, Adana, Osmaniye, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Adıyaman, Malatya and Hatay. With this disaster, aid campaigns were launched for the earthquake zone in Turkey and all over the world. With the "Disaster Relief Campaign for Earthquake Regions", IGU also collects disaster relief materials and delivers them to those in need.
Disaster relief materials is delivered to the needy
A state of emergency was declared for 3 months in 10 provinces where the earthquake disaster that caused great destruction was experienced. People who got together from different cities of Turkey started to collect materials to be delivered to the earthquake area. The aid collected in IGU, which started the "Disaster Relief Campaign for Earthquake Regions", is delivered to those in need with the coordination of AFAD. Students and personnel can deliver necessities such as blankets, tents, diapers, food, boots and coats, scarves, berets, gloves, powerbank, convenience foods, canned food and raincoats to the "IGU J Blok SKS (Directorate of Health, Culture and Sports) Office". Disaster relief materials brought outside of working hours can be left to the IGU security.
