The number of accredited programs of the University is increasing
Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) announced that the number of programs with international accreditation increased to 63 with the accreditation of the School of Applied Sciences Television Reporting and Programming as a result of the evaluations of international independent accreditation organizations.
Providing information about the Department of Television Journalism and Programming and expressing that its graduates have the opportunity to work almost everywhere where communication takes place, including public and private broadcasters,
the School of Applied Sciences Acting Director Asst. Prof. Dr. Hilal Kılıç spoke: “They can work with many titles such as director, journalist, editorial director, cameraman, reporter, screenwriter, newsman, editor, researcher, writer and critic.”
"AIMS TO RAISE QUALIFIED MEDIA WORKERS"
Stating that the department has a 4-year education program, Kılıç said: “The Department of Television Reporting and Programming has a curriculum in which students both increase their knowledge about the field theoretically and gain the chance to practice and reinforce the knowledge they have learned due to the applied courses they take. The department aims to train qualified media professionals who will work in media in general and television journalism and programming in particular. Students are provided with knowledge and skills in many areas such as "critical media literacy, news gathering and writing techniques, television broadcasting, show writing".
“PROVIDES THEM TO HAVE THOROUGH INFORMATION”
Giving information about the faculty members in the Department of Television Journalism and Programming, Kılıç said: “In addition to their academic studies, they have experience in various fields of the media industry. This two-sided dimension of the department lecturers enables students to have more thorough knowledge about the department they are studying and the business lines they will work in the future.”

APPLIED COURSES
Kılıç stated that the students studying in the department have taken various applied courses related to their future jobs, and listed these courses as follows:
"Camera and shooting techniques, editing techniques in TV, advanced editing techniques, sound and visual production techniques, television script writing, television program production and management, short film applications, news language, diction and news techniques."
WHAT IS ACCREDITATION?
Kılıç shared the following information about accreditation: “For universities, having accreditation means documenting the quality of education. Universities apply to both national and international organizations to get their education certified in terms of "quality". CoHE adds the accreditation information of the programs of the universities to the preference guide in order to facilitate the selection of the applicants who will make their university preferences and to make them more consciously.
