World universities ready for the rankings
Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking 2021, the world university ranking agency, received more than 1200 applications this year. In the ranking based on the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, the contributions of universities to the sustainable development of societies are measured.
Times Higher Education (THE), the prestigious international higher education ranking organization known as the Oscar of higher education, announced that it received more than 1,200 applications from 98 countries for the ‘Impact Ranking 2021', which aims to measure the contribution of universities to the sustainable development of societies.
TURKEY IS THE 4TH IN APPLICATIONS
In the statement, which stated that the participation in the ranking has increased, the country with the highest number of applications was Russia with 86 applications. Japan ranks 2nd with 85 applications. India ranks 3rd with 57 applications, Turkey 4th with 54 applicants.
GAYRETLİ: “WE ARE FIRST IN TURKEY”
Speaking about the statement that the 'Quality Education' category, which is the only target that universities need to provide data to be included in the general ranking, received the highest number of applications, Abdülkadir Gayretli, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Gelisim University, reminded that they left many universities behind and managed to get in between top 100 universities of the World under the title "Quality Education". Gayretli added: “We ranked 1st among 34 participating universities from Turkey under the title ‘Quality Education’”
“ACHIEVEMENTS MOTIVATE US”
Stating that the evaluations by Times Higher Education (THE), a London-based higher education rating agency, are very valuable for higher education institutions, Abdülkadir Gayretli said: “With the encouragement of Prof. Dr. Yekta Saraç, the President of the Council of Higher Education, we continue our work in the name of internationalization. Our achievements in the world rankings also motivate us in this regard.”
