IGU TTO Meets with Leaders of the Energy Sector: Critical Minerals and Future Technologies Discussed

The Technology Transfer Office (IGU TTO) of Istanbul Gelisim University participated in the conference titled “The Present and Future of Energy Security in the World and in Türkiye: Risks and Solutions in Critical Minerals,” organized by the Istanbul International Center for Energy and Climate (IICEC) of Sabancı University and held at Sabancı Center. Bringing together global leaders of the energy sector, the conference offered a multidimensional evaluation of the future of energy security and the strategic role of critical minerals.

 

Critical Minerals at the Center of Strategic Discussions

 
The conference, titled “The Present and Future of Energy Security in the World and Türkiye: Risks and Solutions in Critical Minerals,” featured comprehensive assessments from Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye, and Dr. Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA).
During the event, Türkiye’s potential in the field of critical minerals, one of the key pillars of energy transition, along with global risks and possible solutions, were examined in detail.
 

IGU TTO Projects Presented to Minister Bayraktar

 
During a meeting held following the conference, representatives of IGU TTO briefed Minister Alparslan Bayraktar on the innovative projects carried out within the university.
The discussion focused on domestic technology development efforts and the R&D projects implemented within the framework of university-industry collaboration. In this context, Minister Bayraktar was presented with an informational brochure outlining IGU TTO’s current projects and future vision, underscoring the university’s commitment to transferring academic knowledge into industry.
 

A Strong Vision for Transferring Academic Knowledge to Industry: IGU

 
In line with the conference’s central vision, i.e., “Critical minerals and energy technologies are the key to future self-sufficiency”, Istanbul Gelisim University continues to play an active role in shaping Türkiye’s energy future by producing sustainable and strategic projects that contribute to the national technology initiative through scientific knowledge, innovation, and industry partnerships.
