Indicating that the number of books published in Turkey increased with each passing year Writer and Developing Editor Mürsel Çavuş said: “According to data from the International Publishers Association (IPA) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the world of broadcasting is dominated by the US, China, and Germany. This is followed by the UK, Japan, and France. Turkey is very close to entering the top 10. In this sense, we are clear. But we need qualified manpower to produce more qualified, high value-added and high-yield books”
Emphasizing the importance of education, Çavuş said: “Many people I've met want to write, but they don't know how to do it, they're clogging somewhere. Overcoming this is only by learning the dynamics of this work. The editorial workshop we have started within Istanbul Gelisim University Continuous Education Center (IGU SEM) will close this gap. In the workshop, we will talk not only of the publishing industry but also how to make the business profitable”.
The 60-hour 'Editorial Workshop', which will be opened within the Istanbul Gelisim University Continuing Education Center, will begin training on Saturday, March 2nd. Writer and Developing Editor Mürsel Çavuş will teach all the stages of preparing books.
