The world-famous academician Prof. Dr. Fevzi Okumuş, who is known for his work in the field of tourism management, also joined as visiting professor.

Prof. Dr. Fevzi Okumuş, who was included in the staff of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) as a visiting professor, is shown among the best professors in the world in the field of tourism management. His research interests include strategic management, competitive advantage and crisis management. Prof. Dr. Okumuş has more than 300 scientific publications. World-renowned professor with over 18000 citations and an h-index of 64 according to GoogleScholar December 2022 data, is also on the "Highly Cited Researcher" list according to the data of the Clarivate institution in 2021-2022. Prof. Dr. Fevzi Okumus stated the following:
“Being one of the highly cited researchers is significant. However, helping our students, guiding young faculty members and working with institutions in the tourism sector are as significant as our publications and citations.”
