“Make your top five preferences well”
With the announcement of the results of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), the preference period for university candidates has begun. Giving advice to the candidates for the period that will start on August 5 and end on August 20, Abdulkadir Gayretli said, "Especially make your first five choices in order to benefit from the preference scholarships."
"EVERY STUDENT CAN STUDY IN ANY DEPARTMENT"
Reminding that the number of candidates whose exams are valid according to the 2021 YKS results is 2 million 416 thousand 748, Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Chairman of the Board of Trustees Abdülkadir Gayretli stated the candidates should not take a gap year, thinking that they will not be able to get into the department they want and added:
“If students do not have enough points to realize their ideals, they can transfer with a base score after studying for a year or a semester. If they want, they can transfer from a state university to a foundation university or vice versa. Even if students are placed in departments they do not want, they should not worry. Now, with double major, minor and lateral transfer opportunities, every student can easily study the department they want.”
“GET A DOUBLE DIPLOMA”
Gayretli stated that they provide scholarships of up to 50 percent to the students preffering Istanbul Gelisim University in their first five choices and said, "Those who enroll in an undergraduate or associate degree program that is in their top five preferences of ÖSYM list receive a preference discount of up to +50% in addition to the ÖSYM scholarship. There are almost no students without a scholarship and all of our students have the chance to do a double major. The student gets a double degree by doing a double major without paying any fee to the department or the university, where he can not be placed through the exam."
Speaking about the candidate students who will prefer associate degree, Abdulkadir Gayretli said, "They can choose two-year departments and complete their education in 4 years after they are successful in the exam they prepared with our university's free Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) courses."
Stating that the engineering and architecture departments are the oldest professions, Gayretli emphasized that "The working areas of these professions that will survive as long as humanity exists are wider."
“DIPLOMAS HAVE INTERNATIONAL VALIDITY”
Gayretli stated that a total of 63 programs have been accredited by international accreditation institutions and said, “With the accreditations, our students' diplomas have gained international validity. We have proven that our education quality is at international standards.”
