Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), which continues its studies with the vision of "Research University", prepared its 15th term graduates to the future with the ceremonies held in Yahya Kemal Beyatlı Performing Arts Center on July 24-25, 2024. 9,903 students who graduated from undergraduate, graduate and associate degree programs shared their excitement and happiness with their families.



"We want our students and graduates to be people of the world"

The 15th semester graduation ceremony started with Abdülkadir Gayretli, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Gelişim University, and Rector Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin's opening speeches. Abdülkadir Gayretli, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Gelişim University, gave the graduates the good news. The tuition will be covered if they are accepted for master's and doctorate from the universities in the top 20 in the World University Rankings. He also added: "We want our students and graduates to be within universal values and to be a world person.  In this age of rapidly spreading knowledge and increasing cultural interaction, language skills are vital not only for academic and professional development, but also for your personal development. With your graduation, you will be able to have a say in international platforms, interact with different cultures and produce innovative solutions to global problems thanks to the language skills you have. We are confident that you will make valuable contributions to society by using these skills effectively. We are proud of you. Our future is in your hands."

IGU, which stands out with its internationalization policy and global projects, is the 1st university in Türkiye with 45 YÖK-approved graduation certificates and the highest international accreditation. Istanbul Gelisim University Rector Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin continued his words as follows: “We are proud to graduate 4463 undergraduate and 5440 associate degree students at IGU along two days. Each of you are very valuable to our university and our country. Like all of our IGU graduates, you will work in the service of our country and humanity. Our university aims to make an impact worldwide by being at the intersection of science and technology. You should remember that you are not only individuals armed with knowledge, but also leaders who understand how that knowledge can be used to make the world a better place. Science and technology include not only theoretical knowledge but also how to make that knowledge useful to humanity. It will be a great source of pride for us to see you as an ambassador of our university after your graduation. Make the most of the opportunities offered by science and technology without losing your love of research and learning, wherever you are. I believe that you will reflect the theoretical and practical education you have received in the most efficient way and that you will successfully represent Istanbul Gelisim University in the national and international arena.
