Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) continues to draw attention through the quality work its graduates produce in different fields. One such work, the book titled "Restoration through a Woman's Eyes: Repairing the Unseen" (Kadın Gözünden Restorasyon: Görülmeyeni Onarmak), written by Interior Architect Pınar Sezer, a graduate of the IGU Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department, has been published. The work offers a distinctive perspective on the field of restoration, while bringing together important assessments on women's labor, spatial memory, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
Drawing attention through her work on the preservation of cultural heritage, Istanbul Gelişim University graduate Interior Architect Pınar Sezer, with her newly published book, addresses the discipline of restoration not merely along the axis of the physical preservation of buildings; she also makes visible its role in transmitting the past, social memory, and cultural values to future generations.

Offering a Distinctive Perspective on Restoration

The work "Restoration through a Woman's Eyes: Repairing the Unseen" focuses on women's labor, spatial memory, the preservation of cultural heritage, and the frequently overlooked aspects of restoration processes. The study emphasizes that an understanding of conservation encompasses not only the physical integrity of buildings, but also historical, cultural, and human values.
In this respect, the book aims to bring an interdisciplinary perspective to the field of restoration and to contribute to raising awareness regarding the preservation of cultural heritage.
