An Academic Perspective on Sustainability: IGUSBD's “Sustainability” Special Issues Published

The "Sustainability"-themed special issues of the Istanbul Gelisim University Journal of Social Sciences (IGUSBD) have been published. Prepared under the editorship of Assoc. Prof. Serdar Egeli, the special issues examined the sustainability approach, which prioritizes planning for today with an eye on future generations’ needs, from an academic perspective. A total of 54 studies were published across the special issues, comprising 48 original research articles and 6 review articles. It was reported that approximately 100 submissions were received for the special issues, and that around half of the articles were accepted for publication following the review process.

Studies from Different Disciplines Featured

 
The concept of sustainability, whose global importance is growing with each passing day, is bringing new approaches across numerous fields including economics, management, communications, social policy, and societal transformation, and the Istanbul Gelisim University Journal of Social Sciences aims to contribute to the academic literature in this area through its published special issues.
 
The special issues cover a wide range of topics including sustainable economic growth and urbanization, blockchain technologies, NATO’s role in promoting sustainable peace, sustainable tourism and gastronomy, ChatGPT and business sustainability, sustainability in the fast fashion industry, the use of AI for sustainability, green finance, green advertising, sustainable consumption, climate risks, and CO₂ emissions.
 

IGUSBD Indexed in International Databases

 
The Istanbul Gelisim University Journal of Social Sciences, an internationally peer-reviewed publication, is published twice a year in April and October. The journal is available in open access through national and international indexes including ULAKBİM TR Dizin, DOAJ, EBSCO, OpenAIRE, ProQuest, SOBİAD, and Ulrich's.
