Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) hosted the Academic Workshops organized by Gökkuşağı Schools from August 24 to 27, 2026. Over the four-day program, teachers received theoretical and applied training in many areas, from education technologies and AI applications to measurement and evaluation and project development. The Academic Workshops, organized to support the professional development of Gökkuşağı Schools teachers and build their knowledge and practical skills for the new school year, were held at Istanbul Gelisim University. Teachers from the Istanbul campuses attended in person, while those from campuses outside Istanbul joined online. In the interactive and practice-focused workshops, teachers working at different campuses had the chance to share their experience, develop joint work, and produce new education projects.
Current Approaches in Education Covered under Different Headings
As part of the Academic Workshops, Assoc. Prof. Şebnem Gürsoy Ulusoy delivered theoretical and applied training under the headings "Micro-Teaching, Language of Instruction, and Growth Mindset," "Project Design," "Measurement and Evaluation," "Academic Integrity," "Strategic Parent Communication," "Digital Diplomacy," and "Career Guidance."In the sessions, teachers worked on integrating AI applications into lessons, effective language of instruction, micro-teaching practice, project development, measurement and evaluation processes, and creating shared educational content using different materials.
Psychological Health and Crisis Management Addressed
In the "Social-Emotional Development, Psychological Health, and Crisis Management" workshop delivered by Asst. Prof. Sümeyye Yücel, the different situations teachers may encounter in education and approaches to managing them were discussed. The workshop also included applied work on the subject.AI and Digital Transformation Taught in a Laboratory Setting
In the "Digital Transformation and AI Applications" workshop delivered by Res. Asst. Serdar Budak and Res. Asst. Hasan Koç, the training was carried out hands-on in a laboratory setting. Teachers were given practical applications on using AI and digital technologies in lessons, and examples were shared on integrating new teaching methodologies with technology.A Culture of Joint Work across Campuses Strengthened
The four-day Academic Workshops supported teachers' professional development and also laid the groundwork for stronger sharing of knowledge, experience, and content between different campuses. The aim is for the content and projects teachers developed together during the program to be applied at different campuses in the new school year and turned into joint projects.Through the work carried out in the workshops, the goal was to help teachers start the new school year better planned and prepared, and to contribute to developing innovative, technology-focused, collaborative, and student-centered teaching practices.
The Four-Day Program Closed with Final Remarks
The closing remarks of the Gökkuşağı Schools Academic Workshops were delivered by Istanbul Gelisim University Board of Trustees Chair and Gökkuşağı Schools Founder Abdülkadir Gayretli and Gökkuşağı Schools General Manager Mesut Döner.The four-day program closed with the goal of carrying the knowledge and experience teachers gained into the new school year and continuing the partnerships built between campuses through new work.
