Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) hosted the “2024 High School Summer Academy” on July 8-9, offering high school students the opportunity to experience university-level courses. The academy, which received great interest from students, featured eight workshops introducing different academic departments.
At IGU, high school students had the chance to gain hands-on experience in various fields: the 3D Jaw Model Workshop in Dentistry by Research Assistant Nursuna Büşra Çetinkaya, Creative Drama Workshop by Lecturer Buse Kerigan, Drone Workshop by Lecturer Ahmet Bikiç, Nursing Workshop by Asst. Prof. Mahruk Rashidi, Pasta Workshop by Lecturer Kemal Şahanlık, The ABCs of Computer Programming Workshop by Asst. Prof. Serkan Gönen, Stage and Camera Makeup Workshop by Lecturer Aylin Koç, and Aircraft Engineering and Design Workshop by Prof. Osman Ergüven Vatandaş.
Through both theoretical explanations and practical, hands-on methods, students were able to explore the departments and gain valuable insights before starting university.
