Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TPMK) has announced the ranking of intellectual property studies carried out in Turkey in 2022. Istanbul Gelisim University ranked 1st among universities in Turkey in terms of the number of patents in its portfolio. In addition, according to the patent/utility model applications published by TPMK until 31.12.2022, IGU ranked 1st among all universities in "Artificial Intelligence and Food Technologies".

IGU is among the top 10 universities producing technology in Turkey!
IGU, which achieves success on a global scale with its national and international standards and prioritizes science, technology, R&D and sustainability themes, managed to produce technology in 11 of 20 sectors/technology categories. Within the scope of the intellectual property studies announced by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TPMK), IGU ranked 1st among the universities in Turkey in terms of the number of patents in its portfolio. According to the patent/utility model applications published by TPMK until 31.12.2022, IGU ranked first among all universities in "Artificial Intelligence and Food Technologies" and took its place at the top.
IGU is among the top 10 universities in Turkey that produce technology in different categories. The aforementioned categories are as follows:

- 2nd in Robotics Technologies,
- 2nd in the Automotive,
- 3rd in Aviation and Defense Technologies,

The number of patent applications of Gelisim University, which was 700 in 2022, increased to 751 on May 2023.
