İstanbul Gelişim University continues to contribute to sustainability and environmental awareness through its students. As part of this effort, Furkan Emre Başaran, a student in the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department of IGU's Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences (FEASS), participated as a climate ambassador on behalf of the university in the "Marmara Region Climate Ambassadors Zero Waste and Climate Workshop." The workshop, hosted by Sakarya University, aimed to raise awareness on environmental sustainability and to support young people's active participation in climate policy. Organized with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the event addressed many important topics related to the environment and climate from academic and technical perspectives.

Zero Waste and Sustainability Topics Examined
As part of the workshop, comprehensive sessions were held on zero-waste management, the recycling processes for used batteries, the environmental impacts of waste oils, and sustainable environmental practices. Solution proposals and practical examples addressing environmental challenges were shared in the program, carried out with the contributions of expert academics and industry representatives.The sessions also offered detailed assessments of climate change mitigation strategies, sustainable environmental policies, and projects aimed at raising environmental consciousness. The workshop, which drew attention to the role of young people in environmental policy, emphasized the importance of climate ambassadors in creating societal awareness.
