İstanbul Gelişim University Board of Trustees Chair Abdulkadir Gayretli, Vice Rector Prof. Arda Öztürkcan, SATMER Director Asst. Prof. Mustafa Günay, and Ramazan Eroğlu paid a courtesy call on Istanbul Governor Davut Gül at his office. The courtesy visit included a comprehensive assessment of İstanbul Gelişim University's development in recent years in the fields of education, science, technology, internationalization, and the arts. The meeting particularly focused on the university's international student potential, its global academic visibility, and its rise in world university rankings.

"An Important Achievement for İstanbul"

IGU Board of Trustees Chair Abdulkadir Gayretli noted that the university today is home to students from a large number of different countries, and shared the work being carried out to strengthen international academic networks, increase scientific output, and build a globally competitive higher education model.
Expressing his satisfaction with the academic and institutional development the university has demonstrated in recent years, İstanbul Governor Davut Gül noted that the achievements represent an important gain for İstanbul, and congratulated Board of Trustees Chair Abdulkadir Gayretli and the university management.

University–Industry Cooperation Projects Discussed

The visit also included information about the student dormitory project currently under construction within İstanbul Gelişim University. Expressing his satisfaction that the university is continuing its student-centered growth strategy alongside physical infrastructure investments, Governor Davut Gül stated that these developments in higher education make important contributions to İstanbul's educational vision.
University–industry cooperation projects were also addressed at the meeting. Board of Trustees Chair Abdulkadir Gayretli noted that İstanbul Gelişim University's strategic location has been planned specifically to enable the building of strong relationships with industry, and stated that the university is conducting important projects in applied education, R&D, and technology development.
Referencing projects previously carried out in defense and technology, Gayretli also shared information about ongoing work on a vertical take-off and landing aircraft project.

Special Portrait Presented to Governor Davut Gül

As part of the visit, a special oil portrait prepared for İstanbul Governor Davut Gül within the framework of the 2nd Traditional SATMER Culture and Arts Festival was also presented. The work, created by artist Ramazan Eroğlu, was received with great appreciation by Governor Davut Gül.
During the meeting, which drew attention to the unifying power of art in social development, the importance İstanbul Gelişim University places on artistic production and cultural activities, alongside scientific and technological development, was also highlighted.
The visit concluded with mutual expressions of goodwill for the advancement of higher education, science, technology, arts, and public sector cooperation.
