Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), which continually expands its competencies in education, research, and applied fields, has added an important new authorization to its institutional standing in civil aviation. IGU has been authorized as a "Training Resource Provider Organization" and "Examination Center" under the Institutional Transformation Model (ITM - KDM) implemented by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA - SHGM).
An Important Authorization under the Institutional Transformation Model
The Institutional Transformation Model introduced by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation aims to carry out licensing, training, certification, and oversight processes in the aviation sector through a single digital platform in a data-driven and transparent manner. With the authorization granted under this framework, Istanbul Gelişim University has taken its place among the institutions that will play an active role in civil aviation education and examination processes.
Training and Assessment Process in Line with International Standards
The KDM-ORG structure was established in accordance with the Civil Aviation Training and Examination Directive (SHT-EĞİTİM/SINAV), the international agreements to which Türkiye is a party, and the Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) approach defined by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The model aims to ensure that civil aviation training and examination processes are conducted in a sustainable, traceable, and standardized structure.
Will Provide Students with an Industry Advantage
Under the authorization, Istanbul Gelişim University will contribute to the advancement of aviation education standards through its infrastructure and academic expertise. The university will provide its students with the opportunity to engage more closely with industry processes before graduation and to develop their competencies in their respective fields.
