Mentorship Support from IGU at TEKNOFEST 2025 Quantum Technologies Software Competition
Organized for the first time this year as part of TEKNOFEST 2025, the Quantum Technologies Software Competition was held between September 1–3, 2025, at Gebze Informatics Valley. Out of 94 teams that applied from all over Turkey, 65 teams were selected after the preliminary round, and 10 of them advanced to the finals. The finalists competed over a challenging three-day hackathon to develop innovative solutions in the field of quantum technologies.
Participants Sought Solutions to Security Problems Using Quantum Neural Networks
During the final stage, teams focused on areas such as the recognition of noisy facial images and security applications using Quantum Neural Networks (QNN). Throughout the highly competitive process, participants combined their knowledge of quantum computing with their software development skills.
Global Perspective on Quantum Technologies at the International Panel
The event, organized with contributions from the Ministry of Industry and Technology, TÜBİTAK, T3 Foundation, and ComPro Group, also hosted the International Quantum Technologies Panel with the participation of experts from IBM and Lancaster University. At the opening of the panel, the importance of promoting quantum technologies and raising awareness among young people in this field was emphasized.
Academic Support from IGU: Research Assistant Saim Hatipoğlu Served as Mentor
At this prestigious event, Research Assistant Saim Hatipoğlu from the Software Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Istanbul Gelisim University served as a mentor. Providing technical guidance to the finalist teams, Research Assistant Hatipoğlu not only shared his personal expertise in quantum software projects with young developers but also successfully represented Istanbul Gelisim University.
