2024 Türkiye's Patent Report Announced: IGU is 1st in Türkiye in Artificial Intelligence Technologies!
"2024 Türkiye's Patent Report" prepared by Patent Effect has been published. In the report, Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) took its place at the top of the list by maintaining the title of "Turkish Patent Application Champion" with its 856 patent applications. The university also ranked 6th in the ranking of "Turkish Patent Registrations" with 94 patent registrations.
The Innovation Map of Türkiye and the "2024 Turkey Patent Report" of the Patent Effect, which was previously published, are based on the same basic data and offer two separate evaluations based on different data types. Istanbul Gelisim University, which ranks first in the Innovation Map as the institution that makes the most applications according to the patent application date, was ranked 3rd in Türkiye in the Patent Effect report prepared according to the publication date of the applications. While this difference is due to the data analysis methods adopted in the two reports, it is seen that IGU is the university that applied the most with 124 patent applications made during 2024, and it ranks 3rd in the general ranking with 106 applications published. These data reflect the university's dynamic R&D approach and uninterrupted patent production process.

IGU is the First in 6 Categories with its Patent Studies!
Istanbul Gelisim University, which spreads its research and innovation culture to all its academic units, has achieved remarkable success by entering the list in 16 of 20 technology categories according to 2024 data. The university, which ranked first in 6 of these categories, stood out with its technological diversity and innovative production capacity and took a strong position in the field of higher education with its innovative production potential.
IGU continues to lead in AI
Istanbul Gelisim University, which stands out with its scientific productivity, maintained its position at the top with 66 patent applications in the Artificial Intelligence Technologies category and became the first in Turkey with 572 patent applications in the field of Food and Beverage, 49 in Automotive, 46 in Agriculture, 23 in Aerospace and Defense, and 13 in Retail and E-Commerce.
Rise in international patents
Continuing its vision of patent-oriented internationalization, Istanbul Gelisim University also showed a significant rise in the list of International Patent Applications (PCT) for 2024. The university, which rose to 3 places with 38 applications compared to the previous year, ranked 3rd in Türkiye.
