Istanbul Gelişim University Sports Club has added another achievement to its successes in national sports events. Competing at the Freediving Outdoor Seniors and Masters Individual Turkish Championship and National Team Trials, organized by the Turkish Underwater Sports Federation in the Kaş district of Antalya, Istanbul Gelisim University Sports Club athlete Cenk Devrim Ulusoy dove to a depth of 70 meters on a single breath in the Free Immersion (FIM) discipline, breaking the Turkish record and becoming Turkish champion. A total of 20 athletes, 16 men and 4 women from 8 sports clubs, competed at the event organized by the Turkish Underwater Sports Federation. The championship, held in the seniors and masters categories, also hosted the national team trials.

Sharing his feelings after his achievement, Istanbul Gelişim University Sports Club athlete Cenk Devrim Ulusoy noted that returning to his athletic career, which he had been forced to pause due to health problems, with a Turkish record and a championship title was a major source of motivation for him. Ulusoy stated: "Due to the health problems I experienced, I had to stay away from sport for a while. To return after that process by breaking the Turkish record and becoming Turkish champion is an indescribable joy for me. Competing under the roof of a strong institution like Istanbul Gelişim University, one that values sport and always stands by its athletes, gave me great strength. In the period ahead, I aim to represent our university in the best possible way by recording new achievements in both the national and international arena. In this success, the support of IGU Board of Trustees Chair Abdülkadir Gayretli, Asst. Prof. İrfan Kara, and IGU Sports Club President Asst. Prof. Uğur Caba, who believed in me wholeheartedly, stood by me at every step, and shared in this excitement, has been immense.
