An Education-Focused Collaboration Protocol Signed Between Istanbul Gelisim University and Balparmak

A collaboration protocol aimed at supporting sectoral development through education was signed between Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) and Balparmak. The signing ceremony, hosted by the Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Gastronomy, was attended by IGU Rector Prof. Bahri Şahin, IGU Secretary-General Assoc. Prof. Serdar Egeli, Head of the Department of Gastronomy Prof. Aslı Albayrak, department academics, and Balparmak executives. During the meeting, in addition to the signed protocol, discussions were held on external stakeholder relations and potential collaborative projects to be conducted jointly with the Department of Gastronomy.

A New Step in University–Industry Collaboration

Representatives from Balparmak, including the R&D and Quality Director, EDT Channel Sales Manager, Brand Manager, Corporate Communications Manager, and Corporate Communications Executive, attended the meeting.

The discussions focused on topics such as university–industry collaboration, applied learning environments, external stakeholder contributions, and potential future joint projects. Within the scope of the protocol, the aim is to strengthen cooperation between the university and Balparmak in the fields of education, research, and sectoral applications; and specifically, to enhance external stakeholder relations and joint activities within the Department of Gastronomy.

New Opportunities for Gastronomy Students

Through its collaborations with leading brands in the industry, the Department of Gastronomy at IGU’s Faculty of Fine Arts continues to provide students with extensive opportunities in both theoretical and practical education.

This partnership with Balparmak will not only strengthen academic–sectoral ties across the university but also contribute to making external stakeholder relations within the department more effective.
