Within the scope of the protocol signed in cooperation with Istanbul Gelisim University and Esenyurt District Directorate of National Education, a competition titled "Healthcare Professionals Compete in Türkiye" was organized with the participation of high school students.
The competition held at Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) with the title "Healthcare Professionals Compete in Türkiye", which is a first in Türkiye, attracted great attention. The competition started with the opening speech of Abdülkadir Gayretli, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Gelisim University, Tayfun Özyolcu, Esenyurt District Director of National Education, and Emre Çoruh, Deputy Coordinator of Esenyurt Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. Esenyurt District Governor Fatih Çobanoğlu, Istanbul Provincial Deputy Director of National Education Hüseyin Aydın, District Health Director Oktay Dokuz and Esenyurt District Sports Director Halil Hacı participated in the competition.
In the competition where Istanbul Gelisim University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Arda Öztürkcan, Faculty of Health Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Rıfat Mutuş, and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Lect. A. Yüksel Barut served as jury members, high school students answered questions prepared in accordance with their curriculum.
Scholarship opportunity for 9 students from IGU
After the exam held with the participation of 25 provinces across Türkiye, 1st schools were determined in each province. 3 students from each of the successful schools were entitled to participate in the "Healthcare Professionals Compete in Türkiye" competition held at Istanbul Gelisim University. Students from the top 3 schools were given the opportunity to study at IGU with a scholarship in order of success.
Three students from Bergama Health Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, who came first in the competition, were given a 100% scholarship, while two schools shared second place as a result of the competitive competition. Three students from Kocaeli Kanuni Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and Muğla Şifa Hatun Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, who participated in the competition and won a drawing prize, were given a 75% scholarship by the decision of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Abdülkadir Gayretli, and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Arda Öztürkcan.

Abdülkadir Gayretli, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Gelisim University, emphasized the importance of foreign language in his opening speech and stated, "At IGU, we send our students to courses abroad to learn English as their native language. We have 76 student projects approved by TUBITAK. We provide all the support to project your dreams."
Esenyurt Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Coordinator Deputy Principal Emre Çoruh emphasized that the competition, in which 12th grade students across Türkiye participate, is very significant in terms of training qualified manpower in the health sector.
The finalists of the competition stated that they were interested in the programs accredited at Istanbul Gelisim University, which progressed with the vision of ‘Internationalization’, and that they wanted to benefit from the scholarship opportunity.
