Improvement Meeting for Accreditation Processes Held at IGU

Istanbul Gelisim University hosted an important meeting on June 12, 2025 in order to improve the continuity of international accreditation processes and the understanding of quality-oriented education. The meeting was attended by representatives of departments accredited by international accreditation bodies such as AQAS (Germany), ABET (United States) and AHPGS (Germany). Meeting was carried out under the chairmanship of Vice Rector for Quality, Accreditation and Internationalization Prof. Arda Öztürkcan.

The main agenda item of the meeting was to evaluate the improvements that needed to be made in order to increase the effectiveness and ensure the continuity of the existing accreditation processes. This meeting, which was held in line with the quality-based growth goals of the university, was also important in terms of strengthening coordination between all relevant academic units.

Action Plan Preparation Started

At the meeting, IGU Quality Coordinator Prof. H. Hakan Bozkurt presented a comprehensive information on the improvement areas in line with the needs determined in the accreditation processes. In terms of the sustainability of quality assurance systems, the necessity of creating an action plan at the institutional level was emphasized.
In the action plan, it is planned to include topics such as analyzing the feedback received from internal and external stakeholders, making continuous improvement mechanisms more effective and strengthening measurement-evaluation practices.

Next Step: Monitoring and Evaluation Process

At the end of the meeting, it was decided that the action plans to be created would be detailed by the relevant units and shared at the next meeting. In order to increase the traceability of the process, a calendar for regular monitoring and evaluation meetings was also put on the agenda.
This approach is considered as a concrete indicator of the university's vision to maintain an academic structure that not only protects the accreditation documents but also internalizes the quality culture.
