Istanbul Gelisim University Ranks Among Europe’s Best in Academic Quality: 6th in Europe with a Full Score in Citations per Paper

According to the World University Ranking 2026: Europe announced by QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), one of the world’s most respected higher education rating organizations, Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) has once again affirmed its academic success on an international scale. Maintaining its consistent upward trend over the past three years, IGU ranked 441st across Europe, sustaining its place among the top 1000 universities. The University particularly stood out with its achievements in scientific research quality, surpassing many leading European higher education institutions.

A “Full Score” in Scientific Impact: Sharing the Podium with Imperial College

Istanbul Gelisim University received a full score of 100 in Citations per Paper, one of the most critical indicators of the QS ranking—an exceptional achievement.
With this performance, IGU shares 6th place in Europe alongside world-renowned institutions such as: Imperial College London (UK), Wageningen University (the Netherlands), CNAM (France)
In this category, IGU ranked 1st in Türkiye, both overall and among foundation universities, demonstrating that it is Türkiye’s strongest university in terms of research impact.

Türkiye’s 4th Best Foundation University

Among 107 universities from Türkiye included in the general QS ranking, IGU ranked 15th.
Within foundation universities specifically, IGU secured 4th place, following: Koç University, Sabancı University, Bilkent University
IGU also maintained its strong performance regionally, ranking 24th in the Western Asia category.
