During the 2026 Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) preference period, Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) drew strong interest from university candidates and their families. Meeting candidates at university promotion fairs throughout the preference process, IGU also welcomed a large number of future students and parents at the preference area set up at its Avcılar Campus. The academic staff, administrative units, and expert preference counselors supported the preference process by answering candidates' questions about university and program choices.
IGU Was in the Field with All Its Units during the Preference Process
Under the work conducted through the coordination of academic and administrative units throughout the preference period, the goal was for future students to have direct access to accurate information. IGU staff serving at different points in the process, from academics to expert preference counselors, from administrative units to promotion teams, helped future students get to know the university up close and build their preferences in an informed way.Through one-on-one meetings held during campus visits and at university promotion fairs, candidates were informed not only about departments and programs, but also about Istanbul Gelişim University's educational philosophy, the academic opportunities it offers, and the facilities students can benefit from throughout their university lives. In this context, information was also provided about practices supporting students' academic and professional development, such as support covering the educational expenses of IGU graduates who receive graduate admission from successful universities in the world rankings, office furniture support provided to entrepreneurial graduates who wish to open their own offices, coverage of course fees for students who achieve success in foreign language examinations, and the purchase of round-trip flight tickets for students who wish to pursue foreign language education abroad.

Future Students’ Interest Was Also Reflected at Promotion Fairs
In addition to the preference counseling it conducted on campus, Istanbul Gelişim University also came together with future students and their families at the university promotion fairs held throughout the preference period.Future students visiting the IGU stands received information about the university's academic structure, educational model, internationalization vision, and student and career opportunities. While future students directed their questions about the programs they were considering to university representatives, families also had the opportunity to receive information on the topics they were curious about regarding education and the preference process. The meetings also conveyed IGU's practices supporting students from their educational lives through to after graduation, sharing with future students and their families the support offered across different areas extending from academic development to foreign language education, and from graduate study to entrepreneurship.
