An evaluation meeting was held for Basic Science Education at IGU!

Istanbul Gelisim University held the 2024-2025 Fall Semester Basic Science Education Evaluation Meeting in the meeting room 505 of the Rectorate Building. Rector Prof. Bahri Şahin, Vice Rector for Education Prof. Nuri Kuruoğlu, Vice Rector for Research and Development Prof. Necmettin Maraşlı and academic staff conducting Mathematics, Statistics and Physics courses participated to the meeting.

The aim of the meeting was to evaluate the current status of Basic Science Education, to plan improvement studies to improve the quality of education and to listen to the opinions of academic staff.
 
At the meeting, the critical role of Basic Sciences in the education and training mission of universities was emphasized. While it is pointed out that basic sciences constitute a solid infrastructure for other disciplines, it is stated that the studies that need to be carried out in order to make this field more effective and useful at Istanbul Gelisim University will be started quickly.
 
At the meeting, the wishes, wishes and suggestions of the academic staff were listened to one by one. A solution-oriented approach was adopted especially in terms of curriculum adaptations, updating course contents, improving course materials and meeting the needs of the academic staff. A common agreement was also reached between the participants in order to increase the impact of  Basic Science Education at the university and to determine the strategies that will contribute to the development of this field.
This meeting was an indication of the importance given by Istanbul Gelisim University to the field of Basic Sciences in line with its goal of improving the quality of education.
