Armenia switched to terror policy

Speaking about the intense missile attacks to Tovuz, Shamkir, Ganja, Goranboy, Naftalan, Mingechevir, that are far from the conflict zone and also Terter, Beyleqan, Aghdam, Berde regions close to the conflict zone in Karabakh in Azerbaijan, Sociologist and International Relations Specialist Bahlul Aliyev (PhD) emphasized that international law was violated, and added: “Having suffered a heavy blow at the front, Armenia, unable to get the international support it hoped for, started a terrorist policy.”

Stating that Armenia, which ignited the fuse of the conflict in the region, started to target civilian settlements with repeated blows on the front, Dr. Aliyev from Istanbul Gelisim University said: “These attacks are particularly versatile and aim to confuse the target, but also to destroy the strategically important places of Azerbaijan. For example, Mingachevir is the energy city of Azerbaijan, and it contains the biggest water reservoir of the Caucasus with a volume of 16 billion cubic meters. Hydroelectric power plant, which is vital for Azerbaijan, is located in the region. Previously, the Armenian side made threats from different media that they would blow up the Mingachevir dam and drag the region into disaster. The fact that one of the missiles hit the plant's close proximity to an energy block and did not detonate by chance is an indication that Armenia did not have its share of the morality of war along with its lawlessness. As for the bombing of the city of Ganja considering the many historical buildings in the city it shows that Ganja is one of the cultural centers of Azerbaijan and that Armenia did not give up its vandal attitude towards civilization as in the 90s.”

“COULDN'T GET THE INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT IT HOPED FOR”

Aliyev, referring to the reasons behind Armenia targeting the civilian settlements of Azerbaijan except Karabakh, said: “Yerevan is trying to make the situation even more complicated. The attacks on these regions are trying to provoke Baku to a counter-attack, thus returning to the image of "oppressed Armenia" and for the Collective Security Agreement (CSTO) to come into effect" and added: “Having suffered a heavy blow at the front, Armenia could not get the international support it hoped for, and started a terrorist policy. Now, rather than the hot contact zone, it aims to cause different damage to Azerbaijan and thus harass it. Arayik Arutyunyan, the so-called head of the regime, declaring that they will carry the war to Azerbaijani territory is actually a brutal expression of hopelessness.”

“CSTO SHOULD STAND A GUARANTOR TO AZERBAIJAN”

Stressing that Armenia's attacks on the civilian settlements of Azerbaijan from the Armenian lands are never acceptable based on the CSTO, Dr. Bahlul Aliyev said: “The main question is, will the CSTO be the guarantor to Azerbaijan against large technogenic disasters as a result of the missile attacks on the civil infrastructure in Azerbaijani cities? There is no such thing as Armenia can do whatever it wants under the Treaty and attack the territory of another country. If Armenia continues to threaten security in Azerbaijan by violating international agreements on the territory of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan has the right of retaliation and may destroy the firing points in that region on a legitimate ground. In order for escalation not to continue in this regard, CSTO should make a guarantor commitment to Azerbaijan on behalf of Armenia.

“RUSSIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH SUPPORTED AZERBAIJAN”

Referring to the support of different religious authorities to the just struggle of Azerbaijan, Dr. Aliyev said: “The Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), which is affiliated with the Moscow Patriarchate, congratulated the Azerbaijani Army for its victory in the front, and expressed its full support. The heads of other religious institutions, Alexander Bakinskiy, the archbishop of the ROC, Sheikh al-Islam Allahashukur Pashazade, the President of the Administration of the Caucasus Muslims, Milih Yevdayev, the President of the Mountain Jewish Community, Alexander Sharovski, the President of the European Jewish Community, Robert Mobili, the President of the Albanian-Udin Community signing the declaration they expressed their full supoort. This can be described as the cultural victory of multicultural Azerbaijan over monoethnic Armenia.”
