Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Fine Arts faculty members and students keep making new accomplishments. Produced by Res. Asst. Eda Türkay from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, the short film "Flaw" won the best project award in the 24th Izmir International Short Film Festival's Film LAB segment. Fatma Nur Güneş, a student in the Graphic Design Department, was featured in the highly acclaimed book "My Father's Tales" released by Boğaziçi Publishing House. The book was a selection of her work from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aysun Cançat's illustration class.
1st among 13 projects!
"Flaw", directed by Pelin Büyüktaş and produced by Res. Asst. Eda Türkay from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema—for which she also wrote the script—was chosen as the best project in the Film LAB section of the 24th Izmir International Short Film Festival. Res. Asst. Eda Türkay, who is still applying to support platforms, said they got the project's initial positive news from Izmir. The 24th Izmir International Short Film Festival's "Flaw" has started its festival trip after being chosen as the best project out of thirteen in the production assistance competition held in the Film LAB section.
Res. Asst. Eda Türkay said the event was quite thrilling as she explained her proposals to the jury, which included seasoned figures like Zeynep Koray, Said Aksoy, and Zeynep Santıroğlu Sutherland. Participating in the Izmir Short Film Festival is highly beneficial, she continued, and both the festival and its Film LAB program provide a highly fruitful platform for viewers and project producers. Türkay said that they were really inspired for the project's future direction by the fact that the initiative was recognized and valued following their five-minute presentation to the jury.

The pictures in the book "My Father's Tales" by Fatma Nur Güneş, a student at the Graphic Design Department, are much appreciated by Boğaziçi Publishing House. The readers of Dr. Beyza Güler Gökalp's book were presented with a selection of the illustrations created in Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aysun Cançat's illustration class. Güneş was able to give her own unique touch to each story in the book thanks to the original images selected for each one, turning them into a visual feast. These unique graphics highlight Istanbul Gelisim University's achievements in art education while also showcasing the contribution of young talent to the art world.
