Organized by Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts and curated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Günay, artist İsmet Yedikardeş's exhibition titled "From Reform to Reform" was opened at Gelisim Art Gallery. The exhibition, where valuable ceramic and oil paintings are presented to art lovers, can be visited until February 29.
Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Gelisim Art Gallery continues to bring art lovers together with valuable works in the 2023-2024 academic year. The exhibition titled "From Reform to Reform", curated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Günay and featuring the works of artist İsmet Yedikardeş, met with art lovers at Gelisim Art Gallery. Artist İsmet Yedikardeş brought together his works for Mardin, produced with different techniques such as ceramics and oil painting, in the exhibition "From Reform to Reform".
“I synthesize cave painting and contemporary painting”
Stating that they are happy to host the works of many leading artists in our country within the Gelisim Art Gallery, the curator of the exhibition, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Günay, said: "Artist İsmet Yedikardeş produced countless works of art, both paintings and ceramics, with a unique style and style in order to transfer the old texture to future generations. He includes the theme of the old architectural structures of Mardin, where he was born. He pays his duty of loyalty to Mardin in particular, to our country in general, and to world culture on a universal level."
Remarking that he synthesized cave painting and contemporary painting, Artist İsmet Yedikardeş said, “The first paintings are cave paintings. We see that after the first human being came to the world, they started to research and made their first works on the cave walls. Everything has a development process. Ceramics, which is another field of mine, can be called a reform related to human development."
