A trip was organized with the participation of Aviation Club students within the scope of “Airex - Aerospace Technologies Activities” organized by Istanbul Gelişim University Health, Culture and Sports Directorate (HCS) Aviation Club.
In Airshow Istanbul, where various workshops were held and the speakers joined, the students of the Aviation Club met with the experienced names of the sector and had the opportunity to visit the jet, airplane and helicopter at the fair to explore the parts of all vehicles.
Airex - Aerospace Technologies is a business platform designed to serve the opportunities in the Eurasian market by focusing on the civilian aspect of the aviation industry.
During the activity, which was held under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Adnan Duygun, the students had the chance to see and examine how the theoretical and practical knowledge in their classes was realized in practice. In this direction, the students who visited many stands in the field both interviewed for the opportunity of internship and listened to the information about the sector from the experts.
Emphasizing that the main aim of the activity is to increase students' knowledge, manners and skills Asst. Prof. Adnan Duygun said: “It is very important for students to get in touch with the experts of the subject at such events. We organize such events not only for Aviation Club students, but also for students studying in all aviation departments. Students had the opportunity to meet Sefa Inan, one of the important names of the sector, and had the opportunity to try various aircraft simulations and established contacts for internship opportunities”.
Referring to the importance given to the aviation industry and aviation, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the IGU Abdulkadir Gayretli added: “Currently we are one of the few higher education institutions at the status of recognized school in Turkey. We are trying to do our best to train qualified personnel in the sector by making many investments for our aviation departments. We are in the status of a recognized school by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation. We always encourage our students to organize such events”.
