Business enterprises must employ a certain number of vocational high school graduates

Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) visited Turkish Exporters' Association (TIM - TEA). Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association (İDMİB) Chairman of the Board of Directors Mustafa Şenocak said that the enterprises should employ a certain number of vocational high school graduates.

In the meeting held with Chairman of the Board of Directors of IDMIB and Member of the Board of Directors of TIM Mustafa Şenocak, Secretary General of the Istanbul Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters' Association (İHKİB - IRWAEA), Süleyman Çakıroğlu potential vocational training collaborations with the university were discussed.

In the visit made by the IGU Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. İzzet Gümüş, Director of Continuing Education Center Asst. Prof. Fatih Fuat Tuncer and IGU Media Coordinator Saygı Ünlü business world was evaluated.

“WE MUST WORK WITH THE UNIVERSITIES”

Mustafa Şenocak, Chairman of the Board of Directors of İDMİB - ILLEA, stated that they had problems in terms of education and there did not grow students at the level they wanted at vocational schools. Emphasizing that they attach importance to industrial and university cooperation Şenocak added: “We have to work with universities. We produce good products but we cannot market well. One of our biggest problems is that we cannot find marketing personnel in exports”.

Şenocak stating that they have difficulty in finding the intermediate personnel, said: “People don't like going to these schools. They can not provide the performance they want because they don't like it. In this regard, the Ministry of National Education and Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association (IDMIB - ILLEA) have a serious work. Business enterprises must be required to employ a certain number of vocational high school graduates, and vocational high school graduates need to be provided with some advantages. Students can be promoted to these schools with job guarantee and achievement scholarships”

 “COOPERATION WITH THE INDUSTRIALISTS IS VERY IMPORTANT”

Director of Continuing Education Center Asst. Prof. Fatih Fuat Tuncer said that they showed their best efforts to contribute to the country's industry with the trainings they gave under the guarantee of the university. He also added: “We have carried out many trainings in the fields of Target Market Determination in Exports, Commercial Intelligence and International Marketing, Delivery and Logistics in Export. Istanbul Gelişim University is a higher education institution that has proven its education quality through accreditations from Europe. Currently we are in the position of the most accredited university programs in Turkey. The quality of education is progressing in line with the university at IGU Continuing Education Center. Collaboration with industrialists is very important for us”.
