IGU VSHS Department of Medical Services and Techniques 1st Process Improvement Workshop was held
Organized by the Department of Medical Services and Techniques of Istanbul Gelisim University Vocational School of Health Services (VSHS), Process Improvement Workshop was held on May 5, 2025 at Gelisim Tower Mehmet Akif Ersoy Hall. Organized under the title of "Graduates, Institutions, Students and Academy Meet", the workshop was an important step in line with the goal of continuously improving the education processes of VSHS.
Quality-oriented approach was emphasized at the opening
The opening speeches of the workshop were made by Istanbul Gelisim University Vice Rector Prof. Arda Öztürkcan, VSHS Director Prof. Mustafa Nizamlıoğlu and Head of Medical Services and Techniques Department Asst. Prof. Nazlı Yüceol. Speaking at the opening, Dr. Yüceol said, "This workshop is an important step that embodies the quality-oriented approach of our unit and university and is based on stakeholder participation. The systematic evaluation of the opinions received from our internal and external stakeholders and their reflection on the decision processes is one of the main pillars of our quality assurance culture. I sincerely believe that our meeting today will reinforce this understanding, strengthen our cooperation and make valuable contributions to improvement areas, and that discussions that will be enriched with different perspectives will support sustainable development."

The goal of continuous improvement in education
The workshop was held within the framework of the quality-oriented education approach of the university, with the aim of continuously improving and improving the education processes by receiving feedback from internal and external stakeholders. Another of the main objectives of the event was to ensure the participation of graduates in the workforce as more equipped and ready individuals and to further strengthen their cooperation with the business world.
In this direction, representatives from contracted institutions such as Abat Medical Center, Private Elit Clinical Medical Center, BHT Clinical Istanbul Tema Hospital, Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate and Medilab Laboratory and Imaging Center; graduates of Medical Imaging Techniques, Anesthesia, Opticianary, Autopsy Assistant and Medical Laboratory Techniques programs; Medical Imaging Techniques, Anesthesia, Autopsy Assistant, Physiotherapy and First and Emergency Aid program students and VSHS quality commission members participated in the workshop.
Participants exchanged ideas on the development of internship and employment processes, the creation of training models suitable for sector expectations, and the strengthening of academia-sector cooperation. It was reported that the final report to be prepared in the light of the findings obtained within the scope of the workshop will be shared with all stakeholders.
The workshop, which was completed with intense participation and productive sessions, was decided to be reorganized on the same date next year.
