Interview on “Future of Tourism in Turkey” Held on 17 December

The "Future of Tourism in Turkey" interview, organized by Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences Department of Tourism Guidance, was held on 17 December with the participation of Professional Tourist Guide Bülent Şahan.

In the interview moderated by Asst. Prof. Ece Zeybek Yılmaz, the current situation of Turkish tourism, potential opportunities and threats were discussed.

“Every Tourism Ambassador Should Introduce Both the West and the East of the Country!”

Stating that the future of tourism for our country, which has hosted many civilizations for centuries, is in cultural tours, Bülent Şahan emphasized that the tourists who come for cultural tourism leave foreign currency in many different areas.
 
The statements of Şahan on the subject were as follows:
“Each tourist guide and guide candidates are tourism ambassadors. Our guides should emphasize that the east should be seen for the tourists coming for the west of our country, and the west should definitely be seen for the tourists coming to the east.”
 
Finally, Şahan stated to the young people that it is very important to establish the relationship between the history of religions and cultural assets, and that young people should conduct studies about many different civilizations.
