Istanbul Gelisim University AgroSense Team Advances to the Finals at TEKNOFEST 2025

The AgroSense Team, consisting of students from Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), has advanced to the finals of TEKNOFEST 2025 with their innovative solution in agricultural technologies. The team, working under the guidance of IGU Technology Transfer Office (TTO) Director Yahya Kemal Kıran, includes senior Software Engineering students Kaan Irmak, Ecem Tan, and Ahmet Karpuz, and received support from TTO Engineer Ahmet Faruk Görmüş. The team is preparing to present their project to the jury in the Agricultural Technologies Competition category at TEKNOFEST, which will be held from September 17-21, 2025.

Smart Decision Support in Agriculture

AgroSense stands out as a mobile and GIS-based solution that enables farmers to make smart and sustainable decisions in agricultural production. The project analyzes real-time soil data collected from field and greenhouse sensors using the developed FilizAI system. It provides guidance to farmers in critical areas such as irrigation, fertilization, planting and harvesting recommendations, as well as pest and disease detection.
Even in areas without sensors, the system fills in missing data using geographic and temporal prediction models. Through advanced time-series and spatial modeling, it establishes early warning mechanisms. Additionally, with RAG-supported artificial intelligence, it offers farmers clear and actionable plans.

One of AgroSense's strongest features is its low-cost and scalable structure, which allows it to reach a wide range of producers. In this way, it contributes to the spread of sustainable farming practices and accelerates digital transformation in agriculture.
