Istanbul Gelisim University Successfully Represented Türkiye at the NAFSA 2025 Higher Education Fair

Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) participated for the first time in the NAFSA 2025 Higher Education Fair held in San Diego, United States, between May 27–30, 2025. The university was among the 53 higher education institutions representing Turkey in the “ Study in Turkey” pavilion at the fair, which is considered one of the most prestigious international meetings in the field of higher education.

Meeting with Over 3,500 Institutions from Around the World

Bringing together higher education institutions from more than 150 countries each year, NAFSA provides an important global platform for student and staff mobility, academic collaborations and the development of multi-faceted inter-university partnerships. The event provides not only a promotion but also a platform for strategic collaborations for actors in the field of higher education.

Intensive Contacts from the University Committee

Istanbul Gelisim University's representation at the fair was made by Vice Rector for Research and Development Prof. Necmettin Maraşlı and International Exchange and Cooperation Office Coordinator Alisa Usubova. During the four-day event, one-on-one meetings were held with university representatives from many countries such as Brazil, Germany, Mexico, Romania, Peru, Canada, the United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, Norway, Chile, Portugal, the United States, Poland, Spain and Qatar.
During the meetings, topics such as student and academic exchanges, bilateral cooperation protocols, joint research projects, short-term training programs and dual degree opportunities within the scope of the Erasmus + program were discussed. The majority of the meetings progressed positively and mutual agreements were reached to establish cooperation with many institutions.

International Network is Getting Stronger

Istanbul Gelisim University shared its academic achievements, research-oriented projects, internationalization strategy and opportunities offered to students in detail during the fair. The university's education quality and open vision for collaboration were met with interest and appreciated by many institutions.
