Ministry of Culture and Tourism's General Directorate of Cinema. Kartal's short film project titled "Dostlar Sağolsun" was among the productions supported under the Ministry's support program.
The fact that the work, developed as a graduation project, was deemed worthy of Ministry support was regarded as a significant achievement by departmental faculty.
A Story of Confrontation Set in Karasu
Set in Sakarya's Karasu district, the film centers on the internal and social conflicts experienced by a young man during the day he awaits his grandfather's funeral. Structured with a minimalist cinematic language, "Dostlar Sağolsun" aims to address the individual's loneliness within traditional social structures, silent resistance, and the process of maturation through responsibility.
The project, which aims to reflect the tension between social structure and individual sensitivity through a simple yet powerful narrative, reveals a young filmmaker's strong perspective.
