On April 23, children took over chairs

Stating that the foundation of the Republican regime is based on the sovereignty and will of the nation Asst. Prof. Alihan Limoncuoğlu said: “So on 23 April we celebrate the sovereignty of the Turkish nation. At the same time this holiday was presented to the children by Atatürk, the leader of the founding staff of the Republic. Atatürk, who put children who are our future in the foreground, left a gift to Turkish children who will be the future protector of the national sovereignty. Istanbul Gelisim University also celebrates the 23rd of April with a film prepared together with the pupils of Gökkuşağı College. The 99th year of the Assembly, which has been experiencing many events from the hard conditions of the War of Independence to the coup attempt that it took during the July 15, will be celebrated as the National Sovereignty and Children's Festival this year as it does every year.”
 
Asst. Prof. Alihan Limoncuoğlu continued his speech as follows:
“National sovereignty is the most important feature of a nation. Although the Turkish nation tried to be colonized by the western states, the Greek forces tried to  eradicate the Turkishness from Anatolia and history with the support of Western powers on the stage of history, resistance against it has been realized through the establishment of national sovereignty.”
