Res. Asst. Eda Türkay is at Brunel University, London with her project!

Res. Asst. Eda Türkay, from Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, attended the sustainable film production workshop held at Brunel University, London, with her short film project Kusur.

Res. Asst. Eda Türkay, from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, attended Brunel University, London, with her project Kusur, for which she won the first prize in the project competition at the Izmir International Short Film Festival in recent months.

Res. Asst. Eda Türkay, who wants to take a step towards creating a sustainable sector and aims to establish a green set with the Kusur project she has produced, continues the preliminary preparation process together with the director of the project, Pelin Büyüktaş. In this process, Kusur took part as a sample in the project carried out by Ekofilm Sustainable Construction Platform, which was created to bring sustainable practices to the sector in Turkey. This project, titled “Connect 4 Environmental Sustainability in Film and the Media”, is supported by the British Council Going Global Partnerships program.

Within the scope of the project, Dr. Ekin Gündüz Özdemirci and Nurten Bayraktar from the Ekofilm Sustainable Construction Platform team went to London Brunel University, one of the project partners, and organized joint events. One of these events was a sustainable filmmaking workshop. The workshop took place both face to face and online. In the workshop, the scenario of the Kusur project was shared with the students and a discussion environment was created about which environmental practices could be used in both the preparation and production processes. Res. Asst. Eda Türkay, who attended the workshop online as the producer of the project, stated that this workshop contributed a lot to the project and that students from London Brunel University contributed to the project with many ideas.
