The Apron Wearing Ceremony took place at IGU!

Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Health Sciences organized an apron wearing ceremony for the students of the Department of Language and Speech Therapy and the Department of Perfusion. Students who took their first steps into their professional lives in the field of health participated in a meaningful ceremony that symbolized their acceptance of professional ethics and responsibilities by wearing white coats.

“The white apron is a symbol of entry into the profession and responsibility”

Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Rıfat Mutuş stated that the white apron is not only a symbol but also represents a great responsibility and said:
“Wearing a white apron is not only a symbol, but also an important step that shows that you have taken the responsibility of entering this profession, dedicated to human health. The white apron is the symbol of serving humanity within the framework of ethical values. Today, by wearing these aprons, you are not only choosing a profession, but also taking responsibility for protecting, improving and maintaining human health. This responsibility requires meticulous work, dedication and continuous learning. ”

Head of Language and Speech Therapy Department Asst. Prof. Deniz Yıldız emphasized that students should adhere to ethical principles throughout their professional lives and said, "While you are wearing your white aprons today, you are also promising that you will do your job properly, that you will always prioritize your patients by adopting professional ethical principles while helping your patients. So, in fact, your responsibility is big. May the excitement you have today accompany you throughout your professional life.”

“Perfusion is an indispensable field of modern medicine”

Prof. Rıfat Mutuş touched on the critical role of perfusionists in the health system:
“Perfusion is an important discipline that protects human health with advanced technology as one of the most valuable areas of modern medicine. It is an indispensable part of cardiovascular surgery. Perfusionists are hidden heroes who confidently maintain patients' connection to life. Every student who wears an apron from here today not only steps into a profession, but also undertakes a sacred task that requires dedication, discipline and human love.”

Head of Perfusion Department Asst. Prof. Mehmet Kartal emphasized the importance of the ceremony and said, "Today, you will take the first step by wearing a white apron to the health sector. The university is a vocational education institution, and the ethical and moral values you have acquired here will accompany you for the rest of your profession."

The ceremony ended with a photo shoot with the participation of students and academics. This event, which has a great meaning for students as the first step of their professional life, represented the beginning of a strong career in the field of health.
