The International Artificial Intelligence Film Festival, which started in IGU, continues at full speed!

Organized by Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Applied Sciences for the first time this year, Türkiye International Artificial Intelligence Film Festival brings together cinema and technology. The festival, which received 1105 film applications from 94 countries, started on December 9. The festival, which will continue until December 13, offers cinema lovers a full program ranging from national and international films to workshops and panels.

"Artificial intelligence makes life beautiful when used correctly"
 
Speaking at the opening of the festival, Istanbul Gelisim University Vice Rector Prof. Necmettin Maraşlı said,  "Artificial intelligence can be a tool that beautifies life when used in a positive way. However, strict control mechanisms are needed to prevent abuse. It is necessary to strict control mechanisms against the risk of abuse.''


 
“Artificial intelligence is transforming societies”
 
IGU Faculty of Applied Sciences Dean Prof. Kamil Kaya stated that artificial intelligence affects not only technology but also social structures. Referring to the great transformations that have taken place throughout history, Kaya stated that artificial intelligence is one of these transformations.

Festival Director Assoc. Prof. Ferhat Zengin, on the other hand, announced that 1105 AI-supported films from 94 countries were applied for this year and 80 films were selected as finalists. Zengin stated that this festival reveals the role of artificial intelligence in creative processes and drew attention to the importance of Türkiye's leadership in this field.
 
A full program awaits cinemalovers

The events, which started with the "Transformation of Media in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" interview within the scope of the festival, will continue with workshops such as "Visual Design with Productive Artificial Intelligence" and "Creative Writing with Artificial Intelligence". In addition, workshops such as "Artificial Intelligence and Turkish Film Industry" will be organized.
The festival, which will distribute awards in experimental, fiction and animation branches in national and international categories, presents the transformative effect of artificial intelligence in the world of cinema. The festival is aimed to be continued in the coming years.
