Turkish Coffee Service by IGUTÖMER

Istanbul Gelisim University Turkish and Foreign Language Application and Research Center (IGUTÖMER) organized an event in which guests from different countries were hosted within the scope of cultural integration.

“Turkish Coffee Service” was held by IGUTÖMER. Turkish coffee and Turkish delight were served at the event, which was attended by the students from many countries such as Somalia, Nigeria, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Jordan, Algeria, Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Palestine, Gabon, Turkmenistan.

Director of IGUTÖMER Asst. Prof. Dr. Hakan Yıldırım made the opening speech of the event and the students were informed about the historical background, ethnography and sociocultural importance of Turkish Coffee. Özlem Işık, who contributed to the event, made a presentation named Coffee Culture and Reflections. The presentation about coffee culture in the Coffee Service, which is planned to become traditional, was drawn attention by the guest students.
