Gelisim Trade Center is opened!

Gelisim Trade Center, which is the application laboratory for the students of the Banking and Insurance Department and the Department of Business Administration, to be used together by the Faculty of Applied Sciences and the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, opened on July 18, 2023.

The opening ceremony of Gelisim Trade Center, which is located in J Block of Istanbul Gelisim University, was held with the participation of Chairman of the Board of Trustees Abdülkadir Gayretli, Rector Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Necmettin Maraşlı, Faculty of Applied Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Kamil Kaya, Dean Prof. Dr. Kenan Aydın, Faculty of Dentistry Dean Prof. Dr. Mahir Günday, Faculty of Fine Arts Dean Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak, Department Heads, Faculty Members, academicians, students and guests.

After the ribbon cutting at the opening ceremony, the Head of the Banking and Insurance Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Lokman Kantar, gave information about the establishment purpose of the Laboratory and the works to be implemented to the participants who made examinations inside the Gelisim Trade Center. Dr. Lokman Kantar stated that the details of both banking and insurance transactions will be simulated at Gelisim Trade Center, which will have equipment, software and hardware for Banking and Insurance students to develop practices to prepare them for professional business life. He also emphasized that students will begin to gain their professional experience in the education-teaching processes by developing projects, making presentations and applications related to financial services.

Faculty of Applied Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Kamil Kaya and Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Kenan Aydın thanked everyone who contributed to the acquisition of Gelisim Trade Center, especially Chairman of the Board of Trustees Abdülkadir Gayretli and Şule Gayretli.  Dean Prof. Dr. Kamil Kaya underlined that the understanding of gaining sectoral practices, which is a requirement of the Applied Sciences Education approach, will continue by being developed in every field. Prof. Dr. Kenan Aydın also stated that they are happy that the Gelisim Trade Center has gained a great advantage and application area not only in the field of Banking and Insurance, but also in the field of Business Administration.

With the capacity to serve 50 students at the same time, Gelisim Trade Center, prepared with the infrastructure proposals of Vakıf Katılım Bank, will serve the students of Istanbul Gelisim University in the 2023-2024 academic year, equipped with banking equipment, software and hardware and all other technological equipment required by the banking and insurance field.
