Gökkuşağı College graduates IB students for the fifth time

Graduating its first Turkish and foreign students group in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in 2017, Gökkuşağı College held the 5th International Baccalaureate (IB) graduation ceremony.

The graduation ceremony held at Gökkuşağı College Bahçelievler Campus started with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem. The opening speech of the ceremony was made by the Chairman of the Board of Gökkuşağı College, Abdülkadir Gayretli. This year, girls ranked the first, second and third places in the school, which happened for the first time.

Abdülkadir Gayretli said, “The happiest days of families are the days when they see their children's graduation. They have graduated from the world's most prestigious high school diploma program and will be accepted into the world's prestigious universities. Thanks to the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, students who continue their education journey at universities such as King's College London, Birmingham University, Polytecnico di Torino, IFA Paris have no trouble getting admissions from universities like Manchester, King’s College, Durham, KU Leuven, Kanada British Columbia, City University of London, Edinburgh, Queens, Lincoln, York, Essex.”

"After the former graduates who achieved a maximum of 41 IB points, there are students who expect 43 IB points this year” said Abdülkadir Gayretli, who stated that the 5th IB graduates, consisting of 20 students, are waiting for the IB scores to be announced two weeks later, and continued:

“The International Baccalaureate (IB) program, which functions as a pre-university program, brings students to university life, learning and working skills expected at university, and the ability to conduct scientific and academic research, while educating young people with high foreign language skills. Adopting the principle of a balanced life, IB directs its students to art, music, sports and activities, while raising sensitive young people who worry about global and local problems and seek solutions through community service activities. The system, which integrates critical thinking skills into all courses, allows students to gain a broad perspective and reach a rich cultural perspective.”
