IGU Invests in Tomorrow's Pilots: Cinematic Drone Workshop Meets High School Students

A cinematic drone workshop was held at Küçükçekmece Alaaddin Yavaşça Fine Arts High School with the contribution of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA). Led by Istanbul Gelisim University Lecturer and director Ahmet Bikiç, the workshop provided students with hands-on instruction in drone imaging techniques.

Applied Drone Instruction for University and High School Students

As drone technology becomes increasingly active across different sectors, the demand for qualified pilots is also growing. Accordingly, IGU continues to develop students’ competency in this area through its “Drone Imaging” course, added to the Visual Communication Design Department's curriculum two years ago. Offered as an elective, the course aims to equip graduates with the skills the industry needs.

IGU’s workshop activities, held not only at university level but also for high school students, continue throughout the year. These training sessions cover drone flight preparation, technical and safety considerations, and foundational knowledge of civil aviation regulations. Demo flights carried out during the workshops allow students to put what they have learned into practice.

The Jobs of the Future Supported through IGU–Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education Collaboration

Under the cooperation protocol signed between the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education and IGU, the goal is to strengthen inter-institutional communication and bring these types of training programs to a wider audience. IGU continues to prepare young people for the professions of the future through its innovative educational approach.
