TUBITAK 2209-A on "A Study on the Change in the Number of TCIP Insurance Policies and Insurance Penetration after the February 2023 Kahramanmaraş Earthquake", conducted by department students Semih Aydoğan, Çağla Kesgin and Senanur Aşkın, under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hakan Özcan, Head of the Banking and Insurance Department of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, supported by TUBITAK. A visit was made to the Turkish Catastrophe Insurance Pool (TCIP) regarding the University Students Research Project.
In order to achieve the purpose determined in the project, which aims to analyze whether there is a significant difference in the TCIP policy penetration of ten metropolitan cities in Turkey after the earthquake compared to before the earthquake, using statistical methods, TCIP data of the provinces of the ten metropolitan municipalities in Turkey, which were not affected by the February 6, 2023 earthquake and have the highest population, will be used.
